 Located on the coast with spectacular views of Casco Bay, the McKernan Center offers a quintessential Maine venue for events of up to 100 guests. Built in 1902 as a double officer's quarters, the building is part of the former Fort Preble, which protected Portland Harbor from the Revolutionary War through World War II. Through the generosity of the voters and many private citizens of Maine, the building was restored and renovated in 1993 to be used as a training facility for students in the SMCC Culinary Arts, and Hospitality Management programs.

Historically significant, Hardy Farm dates back to a 1750 land grant from the Massachusetts Bay Colony to the Hardy Famly where it remained in the same family for ten generations.  Today the property features a uniquely beautiful barn event space, sprawling lawns, a woodland chapel, stone patios, a 103 foot sailcloth tent, and overnight accommodations for up to 32 guests.  

The barn originally raised in 1835, now features heat and air conditioning, a generous wrap around open concept mezzanine, large windows, and dramatic lighting creating a uniquely rustic, yet elegant space that's perfect for year-round weddings and events with capacity of up to 150 people from May through October and 100 people during the remaining months.
